“The Cake Sale is not just the best “charity” record we’ve heard in years, it’s one of the best records of the year.”—The Irish Times October 16, Yep Roc Records releases The Cake Sale, a concept album spearheaded by Brian Crosby of leading Irish band Bell X1. With a roll call that includes members of Snow Patrol, Crowded House, The Frames, The Cardigans, The Thrills and solo artists like Gemma Hayes and Josh Ritter, The Cake Sale features a balanced collection of musicians who have combined their efforts to write and record a nine-track CD. Highly successful in its native Ireland and now receiving its U.S. release, all profits from the record will support Oxfam’s Make Trade Fair Campaign and its overseas programme work. Recorded in Dublin last year, the bones of The Cake Sale’s tracks were laid down by Bell X1 duo Crosby and Paul Noonan along with Crowded House bassist Nick Seymour and drummer Graham Hopkins. more...
