Emmett and band will be playing the Festival of World Cultures, Dun Laoghaire
on Sunday 28th August. Showtime is 7pm at the Kingston Hotel Garden and will
feature a full band! The show is free.
**FESTIVAL OF WORLD CULTURES - TV PROGRAMME RECORDING**

For three days
at the end of summer the Southside suburban streets of Dun Laoghaire stretch to
the seams as a symphony of world cultures erupts for its annual Festival of
World Cultures. Paradise Pictures is seeking studio audience members for a very
special TV recording of ‘Festival Of World Cultures 2005’,
a three-part programme to be screened on RTÉ in the autumn. Ticket
allocation will be on a first come first served basis.
Emmett's show (he will be doing one song live and doing a short interview) is
being recorded on 27th August in The National Maritime Museum at The Mariners
Church, Haigh Terrace, in Dun Laoghaire. Tickets are free of charge. If you are

Seminal Dublin band The Stars Of Heaven have their two albums ‘Sacred Heart
Hotel’ and the Stephen Street produced ‘Speak Slowly’ re-issued on CD by
Independent Records on 21st October. One of the more credible propositions to
emerge from Dublin during the post U2 boom, The Stars (as they were
affectionately known) were signed to Rough Trade. Their hipness was enhanced by
the fact that John Peel had the band over to BBC Maida Vale for no less than
four radio sessions. Their championing of seminal and obscure (at the time) acts
like Big Star and The Flying Burrito Brothers (and the solo work of their
leadmen Alex Chilton and Gram Parsons respectively) also enhanced their
standing. If every fan of The Velvet Underground is said to have joined a band,
every fan of the Stars seemed to become a journalist. Both albums will be
available with their original artwork and their debut album ‘Sacred Heart Hotel’
is enhanced by the inclusion of the ‘Holyhead’ E.P.
The Stars Of Heaven ‘Sacred Heart Hotel’ and ‘Speak Slowly’ are released on 21st
October.

Kathleen Edwards returns to Ireland for a show at The Village, Dublin on 17th
November.
Since her visit to Ireland earlier this year, Kathleen has toured Canada with
Willie Nelson and more recently the U.S. with Aimee Mann and John Prine.
Kathleen has just been added to Farm Aid 2005's line up
along with Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Mathews.Farm Aid
takes place on September 18th @ Tweeter Centre, Chicago. A new single ‘In
State’ will be lifted from her acclaimed ‘Back To Me’ album before the Dublin
date.

Fanfare Tour October 2005

To coincide with the release of a remix of Fanfare Mark will be playing a
nationwide tour in October. Special guest will be Emmett Tinley.
‘Fanfare’
is the Rolling Stones pilfered rock out taken from his current album ‘Ghosts’
and it’s been specially edited, remixed and remastered for radio. In early
September Mark heads out on a tour of the East Coast of the U.S. before
returning rather bizarrely to play in Comedian Denis Leary’s band at the Point
Theatre in Dublin on September 24th. Denis once asked Mark to wear an alter
boy’s outfit in a HBO special they both acted in together and their relationship
has somehow progressed beyond that.

JOSH RITTER NEW ALBUM :
Josh Ritter’s new album will now be released 2006, it looks like February. The
band went back into the studio last month to add the last bit of sparkle. Josh
is touring the U.S. with The Frames this fall (that period after Summer where we
never know what the weather will be like !!) and we should see him here in the
New Year.
