KATHLEEN EDWARDS IRISH TOUR
Our favourite Canadian Kathleen Edwards returns to these shores next month with her full kick ass band. We've been getting great press on the album 'Back To Me', radio has been a little slower (bar John Kelly's excellent Mystery Train on Radio 1) but hopefully you'll hear her on the airwaves soon.
Kathleen's video for 'Back To Me' featuring Polly Parson's (Grams daughter) and John Doe (from LA legends X) is available for viewing at
www.independentrecords.ie
As she sings on Back To Mešs title cut: "Išve got ways to make you sing my songs/Ones I ainšt written yet/Išve got lights youšve never seen/Išve got moves Išve never used/Išve got ways to make you come/Back to me."

Tickets from the WAV ticket box or
www.ticketmaster.ieEdwards can play the aching troubadour ('Away') and the country heartbreaker ('Old Time Sake') as well as rocking every bit as hard as the inimitable
(Lucinda) Williams. She's dynamite live too. - UNCUT ****
Music that hits the spot immediately and then gets better with each listen.
.. a recognisable sound-guitar driven folk rock, imaginative and reflective themes and a very measured, assured voice. Very impressive. THE TICKET, IRISH TIMES ****
She excels at love songs stitched with drawn-from-life details: copied keys, unanswered phones, the detritus that litters the no manšs land between men and women. Back To Me groans with sweet-but-embittered songs. - HOT PRESS 8 out of 10.
Back To Me showcases sweet-talking criminals, feisty seductresses, potential inmates, depleted bank accounts, empty coffee cups and screaming neighbours.
Edwards brooding country is never romanticized or glossed-up, preferring to stay dirty, upsetting and uncomfortably real. Edwards shoulders incessant comparisons to Lucinda Williams, but this particular brand of casual, sighing plaintiveness feels an awful lot closer to Aimmee Mann or Gillian Welch. .. she's prone to cracking jokes and relaying tragedy with stoic, blank faced indifference. All of which makes it impossible not to shrug, pound the steering wheel and howl along. - Paste Magazine
Back To Me has the unmistakable feel of psychic isolation, with themes of alienation, personal displacement and the damning power to memory cropping up throughout the album. - American Songwriter
